Data Request
Last updated: 10 July 2026
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you have rights over the personal information Fresoh (Pty) Ltd holds about you. This page explains those rights and how to exercise them.
1. Requests we can help with
- Access: a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: correction or updating of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information.
- Deletion: deletion or destruction of your personal information — see our Account Deletion page for full details on closing your account.
- Objection: objection to our processing of your personal information, including opting out of marketing communications.
- Restriction: a request that we restrict processing of your information while a related concern is resolved.
2. How to submit a request
Email privacy@fresoh.co.za from the email address registered on your Fresoh account, with the subject line "Data Request", and include:
- Your full name and the email address linked to your account.
- Whether you are a Customer or a Restaurant.
- The type of request (access, correction, deletion, objection, or restriction).
- Any details that will help us locate or correct the relevant information.
3. Verifying your identity
To protect your information from being disclosed to the wrong person, we will verify your identity before actioning a request, usually by confirming details associated with your account. We may decline a request, or ask for further verification, where we cannot reasonably confirm you are the data subject concerned.
4. Response time
We aim to acknowledge data requests within 5 business days and to complete straightforward requests, such as corrections or opt-outs, within 30 days. More complex access requests may take longer; where this is the case, we will let you know the expected timeframe.
5. Fees
We do not charge a fee for correction or objection requests. A reasonable fee may apply to formal access requests submitted under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA), which we will disclose to you before proceeding.
6. If you are not satisfied
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator:
